The Soft Space – Terms & Conditions of Hire
Soft Play Hire​​
Thank you for choosing The Soft Space for your event! To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time, please read and agree to the following terms and conditions.
By booking with The Soft Space, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully before confirming your hire.
1. Supervision & Safety

Adult supervision is required at all times during play.
-
We recommend one dedicated adult supervisor per play zone to ensure children’s safety.
-
The hirer is responsible for monitoring children’s play and ensuring equipment is used appropriately.
-
Rough play, climbing on fencing, or misuse of equipment is strictly prohibited.
-
Parents/ Supervisors MUST REMOVE THEIR SHOES before entering the play zone.
2. Age & Usage
-
Soft play equipment is designed for children aged 0–5 years only.
-
Food, drinks, chewing gum, and face paint are strictly prohibited on or near the hire equipment at all times. This is to prevent damage and reduce the risk of choking. If stains are found as a result of these items, an additional cleaning fee will apply, and in severe cases you may be liable for the full replacement cost of the equipment. Please note, face paint causes permanent staining and is not permitted at events where our soft play equipment is being used.
3. Set Up & Space Requirements

Adequate space must be provided for the booked set-up, including access for safe delivery and collection.

Equipment is for indoor use only unless prior agreement has been made for outdoor hire with suitable cover.

If outdoors, equipment must be set up on a flat, clean surface, fully covered by shade or marquee, and protected from rain and wind.
4. Delivery, Collection & Access
-
The hirer must ensure clear access to the event location for delivery and collection.
-
Additional charges may apply if access is restricted or involves stairs.
-
Equipment will be set up and packed down by The Soft Space team only.
5. Damage, Loss & Cleaning
-
The hirer accepts full responsibility for the equipment during the hire period.
-
Any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning required will be charged to the hirer.
-
Please ensure children are free of shoes, sharp objects, and messy items before entering the play area.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
-
A non-refundable booking deposit of 50% is required to secure your date.
-
You will be required to pay a security bond of $200 and remaining balance before taking possession of the equipment - This is required to be paid 7 days prior to the event.

The bond will be refunded within 5 business days after collection of the equipment, provided:

All equipment is returned in the same condition it was hired out.
-
No damage, loss, or excessive cleaning is required.
-
The hirer has complied with all Terms & Conditions of Hire.
-
If the equipment is damaged, lost, excessively soiled, or returned late, the cost of repair, replacement, or cleaning will be deducted from the bond. If costs exceed the bond amount, the hirer will be invoiced for the balance.

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event will forfeit the full hire fee.

In the event of extreme weather (for outdoor bookings), The Soft Space reserves the right to cancel for safety reasons. In such cases, we will offer a reschedule or credit.
7. Liability
-
The Soft Space accepts no responsibility for accidents, injuries, or damage that occur during the hire period.

The hirer is responsible for ensuring safe use of the equipment and supervising children at all times.
-
By hiring, you acknowledge that participation in soft play activities is at your own risk.
8. Hire Period
-
Standard hire duration is as agreed at booking (generally up to 4 hours).
-
Overtime charges may apply if equipment is not available for collection at the agreed time.
9. Agreement
By booking with The Soft Space, the hirer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
Jumping Castle Hire (Add On)
​
1. Hire Conditions
-
The Jumping Castle is only available as an add-on with one of our Soft Play Packages.
-
The hirer must be 18 years or older and is responsible for the equipment during the hire period.
-
Setup and pack down will be completed by our team. Please ensure the area is clear of obstacles before delivery.
2. Space & Power Requirements
-
A flat, clean surface of 6m x 7m (minimum) is required for setup.
-
The area must be free from sharp objects, stones, animal waste, and overhanging trees or wires.
-
A standard power outlet within 20m is required. Extension leads can be supplied upon request.
3. Safety Rules (Adult Supervision Required)
-
Adult supervision is required at all times while children are on the Jumping Castle.
-
Maximum 5 children at a time (up to 200kg total weight).
-
All users must remove footwear (except socks).
-
No food, drinks, lollies, chewing gum, face paint, glitter, or sharp objects are allowed on the Jumping Castle.
-
No climbing on the walls or outside surfaces.
-
Rough play, flips, or wrestling are strictly prohibited.
-
Children of significantly different ages or sizes should not jump at the same time.
4. Weather Conditions

Our jumping castle is strictly for indoor use only. This ensures the safety of children, prevents weather-related risks, and protects the equipment from damage. Please make sure your chosen venue has adequate indoor space for setup before booking.
5. Damage, Loss & Cleaning
-
The hirer is responsible for any damage, theft, or excessive cleaning required due to misuse, negligence, or failure to follow instructions.

Normal wear and tear is accepted.
-
Cleaning fees may apply if the Jumping Castle is returned excessively dirty (e.g. food, mud, paint).
6. Liability
-
The hirer acknowledges that use of the Jumping Castle carries some risk of injury.
-
The Soft Space accepts no responsibility for accidents, injuries, or damages that occur during the hire period.
-
By hiring, the hirer agrees to supervise and ensure all rules are followed.
7. Agreement
By booking our Jumping Castle, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
